Where to go

Trips from Poynton

We're on the edge of the Peak District, so you're on proper roads within the hour. Driving times are rough and depend on traffic.

Peak District

About 45 minutes

Edale, Castleton and the Hope Valley. Walk Mam Tor in the morning and be at a campsite with the kettle on by lunch. Good for a two or three night first trip.

North Wales

About 2 hours

Eryri (Snowdonia), Betws-y-Coed and the Llŷn coast. Mountains one day, beaches the next.

Lake District

About 1 hour 45

Head for the quieter western lakes, Wastwater and Ennerdale, or base yourself near Keswick for the fells.

Scotland

About 5 hours to Glencoe

A week is the sweet spot. Glencoe, Skye and the west coast, at your own pace.

Questions

FAQs

How do I book?

Pick your dates on the calendar. It only lets you choose dates that are free. Book, and the dates are held for you straight away. Nothing is charged online; we’ll contact you to take payment and check driver details.

How much does it cost?

£175 a night, the same all season, plus £10 per dog per night. The calendar shows your total before you book.

When can I pick up and drop off?

Any day except Sunday. Pick-up and drop-off are at our base in Poynton, Cheshire. Delivery within 50 miles can be arranged for a charge.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, up to 2 dogs. Bring your dog’s own bed, and keep dogs off the seats. If the van comes back needing a deep clean, a cleaning charge applies.

What licence do I need?

The van weighs under 3,500kg, so a full UK car licence covers it. Exact driver requirements, such as age and years licensed, are set by our insurer and confirmed when bookings open.

Is insurance included?

Insurance for approved drivers will be included in the hire price. The excess and the security deposit are confirmed when bookings open.

What if I need to cancel?

Our cancellation terms will be confirmed when bookings open, before you pay anything.

Can I take it abroad?

UK trips only to start with. Let us know if you’re planning Europe and we’ll tell you if it can be arranged.

What happens if it breaks down?

Breakdown cover is confirmed when bookings open, and we go through what to do at handover. If anything goes wrong on your trip, call us and we’ll help sort it out.
